Summers in Israel are hot. Very hot. And even the most enthusiastic tourists will quickly find themselves eager to cool off in air-conditioning or water. If you want your kids to stop complaining about the heat, schedule activities where the dress code is a swimsuit. Since water parks are invariably at the top of most children’s wish lists, why not spend a refreshing day at the Yamit Water Park? Your kids will have the time of their lives and it just might be one of the highlights of their vacation.

Located in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon, the Yamit Water Park consists of over 70 dunams (17 acres) of pure enjoyment at the highest international standards. It is the only water park in Israel that features over 20 water slides for children of all ages. In fact, its modern facilities are designed to ensure that the whole family will leave at the end of the day tired but happy.

Exhilarating water slides

Thrill seekers will be delighted with the 26 extreme waterslides at the Yamit Water Park. These include six new super-fast racing slides where the descents are timed, and you can race against others or improve on your own best score. There are also four high-speed slides that are the tallest in Israel, as well as eight fast rainbow slides, a high-thrill Space Bowl slide and two steep Banana Jump slides.

Several other extreme slides are enclosed and are heated during the winter. These include the daunting Super Kamikaze, Black Hole and Amazonas slides.

Fun attractions for younger children

Yamit Kids World is one of the largest water complexes in the world designed for kids aged 1-12. It features lots of fun and safe water activities for young children, encouraging them at a young age to feel comfortable in water even before they learn to swim.

Kids World includes a wet playground with a waterfall, slides for toddlers, a kiddie pool shaped like a large whale, a unique sprinkler area, creative water games, large water fountain mushrooms and more. The youngest guests also enjoy the tropical-themed wading pool. The indoor section of Kids World features more attractions, such as a wave pool, buckets that spill water when activated, a whirlpool, water cannons and various water games.

Much more than a water park

In addition to all the great water-based rides and attractions, Yamit also offers a range of other activities. There is an Olympic-size pool where you can swim laps. You can also take advantage of the state-of-the-art sports complex, where there are facilities for playing soccer, basketball, tennis, dodgeball and squash. Soccer fans can practice their moves on the mini-pitch court.

Adults are invited to relax in Yamit’s pampering spa, which features different types of Jacuzzis, wet and dry saunas and a Turkish bath. Spa treatments are available at an extra fee.

While the children are busy trying out all 26 waterslides or splashing in the wave pool, parents can settle down in comfortable lounge chairs on the expansive shaded lawn and enjoy a well-deserved break. And when all that running around makes the kids hungry, have lunch at the pleasant cafeteria. Yamit Water Park also has locker rooms, a first-aid station, and plenty of free parking.
