"These questions may sound excessive, but they are essential in ensuring the right fit. Black coffee, for example, needs higher water temperatures to dissolve, which requires a water system capable of reaching those temperatures. Those with advanced and costly coffee machines may need reverse osmosis filtration to help protect their appliance from limescale. For an elderly person living alone, we typically recommend a smaller, simpler system, whereas a large family usually needs a more advanced solution.

"For many customers, a garbage disposal unit is a life-changing product", notes Halaf, "many people we meet describe life as 'before' and 'after' its installation. It allows users to put all organic kitchen waste directly into the sink — fruit, vegetables, poultry, fish — press a button, run cold water and, within seconds, the sink is clean. Once a unit is installed, the kitchen bin no longer develops the same odors or dirt, since most organic waste is flushed away through the system.
"For vegans, whose kitchen waste largely comprises vegetable peels, high-powered units designed for bones and tougher food waste are unsuitable, and we don't recommend them. In practice, most customers who install garbage disposers never want to go back. We see this in clients who contact us immediately after they move apartment requesting a new installation. Not infrequently, they insist that we come right away so they're not without it for a single day".
