An AI-based Platform Helps Information Security Professionals
The cyber company Rescana has developed an AI platform in the field of continuous threat exposure management (CTEM), which aims to tip the balance of power in favor of information security managers over attackers

Chief information security officers (CISOs) face many challenges, including an extremely wide attack surface that includes many entrances to the organization, great dynamism in the cloud, fast development rate, third-party providers, etc. Because of these changes, information security teams have difficulty monitoring and managing risks.
To overcome the problem, organizations deploy many protection tools. Every organization has dozens of defense tools that are supposed to help deal with threats, but at the same time, there is a shortage of skilled personnel who know how to operate and use all these tools, which creates a difficult problem for CISOs. Sometimes, information retrieval and cross-referencing operations involving several tools can take days or even weeks because of the backlog of the specialists in the various systems.
Vega, the AI platform of the Israeli cyber company Rescana, provides a solution to these challenges using AI and automation. The platform enables continuous threat and exposure management (CTEM) that includes passive and active scans and supply chain management, prioritizing findings in a centralized manner.
The platform easily connects to corporate security tools and allows users who have no experience with certain tools to perform complex operations with the help of natural language processing (NLP) and thus solve problems generally handled by skilled personnel. The AI also prioritizes the findings to help the CISO in the decision-making process.
Another advantage that the platform offers to customers is giving teams that are not directly related to the security issues, such as procurement, the possibility to carry out day-to-day tasks related to information security, taking some of the load off the overburdened information security teams.
Optimizing security teamwork
Rescana's Saas solution was first released in 2020 by the four founders: Yuval Halfon, Guy Halfon, Kobi Lechner, and Yaron Fuxbrumer. All four have acquired extensive information security experience in large organizations. The company is located in the heart of Tel Aviv, employs 20 people, and has recently received funding from private angel investors.
"Our vision is to change the balance of power in favor of the information security teams against the attackers through the use of an autonomous AI system we call "VEGA", optimizing security teamwork so that they can do more with the existing resources," explains Yuval Halfon, co-founder and CTO of the company, a computer engineer by training and development manager.
What does your solution include?
"We use AI and automation tools to cope with ongoing threat management and exposure. Our platform connects to all the security tools in the organization and allows users to perform complex operations using natural language, with AI prioritizing findings and helping make decisions. This is how we solve the problem of the shortage of skilled personnel. We also allow other teams in the organization, such as procurement, to perform daily tasks related to information security, reducing the burden on the information security teams."
Can you give an example of this?
"Take, for example, the basic action of deleting users who have left the company from all the various systems in the organization. This action requires knowledge of different systems and the activation of teams in different departments. But if you can perform this action using natural language freely and receive the result immediately, without the need for prior knowledge of the involvement of other teams, many more tasks can be performed in less time and with fewer resources."
