It all began in the basement of Itzik and Dani Shapiro’s family home in Jerusalem. There, the two brothers tirelessly experimented with different recipes for homebrewed beer, sharing their brews with a growing circle of family and friends. Soon Dani’s and Itzik’s infectious enthusiasm for the brew became as irresistible as the sweet aroma of beer arising from the basement, and before long the entire Shapiro family was sharing the vision of pioneering a craft brewery in Israel to make exceptional beer. In 2011, the six Shapiro siblings and their father united with brewmaster Yochai Kudler, giving birth to Shapiro Beer.

Located in the gentle, rolling hills surrounding Jerusalem, the brewery embodies that city’s magic, if sometimes tense, spirit of multiculturism, tolerance and coexistence. Shapiro Brewery brings people together; it’s a catalyst for those sparkling conversations that become enduring connections.

Inspired by Jerusalem’s diversity, our brewing philosophy aims to achieve a harmonious balance between different tastes and aromas. Just as the city thrives on cultural fusion, so do our beers strive to capture that essence through meticulous craftsmanship.

At Shapiro Brewery, our shared passion for exceptional craftsmanship drives us to introduce beer enthusiasts to extraordinary flavors. Starting from our humble beginnings in a Jerusalem basement, we have always dedicated ourselves to creating something remarkable. Our brewery stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries in Israel’s craft beer scene.

Join us on this extraordinary adventure as we raise a glass to Jerusalem's spirit, celebrate diversity, and create moments of joy through brewing. Shapiro Brewery—where passion and innovation meet up with millennia of tradition, and every sip tells a story.
