Edete: Leading the Vision of Precision Pollination in Modern Agriculture
The Israeli start-up Edete has developed a precision pollination service for agriculture based on cutting-edge technologies. The company is focused on global expansion and leading agriculture toward a smart and sustainable future.

Liran Yoshai, in collaboration with Edete Precision Technologies for AgricultureIn today's reality, where the agricultural industry faces environmental and economic challenges, the Israeli start-up Edete Precision Technologies for Agriculture offers an innovative technological solution to help growers improve crop yields through a controlled and precise pollination process. The company develops advanced technologies to ensure sustainable agricultural success over time. This solution, based on in-depth scientific research and advanced engineering tools, serves as a complementary method to pollination by bees or wind.
"Our vision is to push the boundaries of agricultural innovation by using advanced technology that delivers proven results," explains Eylam Ran, Edete's founder and CEO. "We understand that the challenges growers face are complex and require precise solutions that can be implemented easily and quickly."
Edete's solution is based on advanced technology enabling an end-to-end precise pollination solution. The service starts with the extraction of high-quality pollen from selected sources and its preservation in a pollen bank under controlled conditions, ensuring its vitality and longevity. The preserved pollen is then distributed in the orchards at the optimal time using sophisticated agricultural pollinators (Edete's 2Be). This process helps growers address climate change and environmental challenges while maintaining high crop quality and maximum productivity, even in difficult seasons.
"We believe that combining science, technology, and smart management can secure the future of global agriculture," adds Eylam. "Our goal is to provide growers with the tools necessary for success while considering their budgetary constraints and economic requirements."
A Focused Global Strategy"We chose to focus on California because it is a global agricultural center, producing over 80% of the almonds and 70% of the pistachios sold worldwide," emphasizes Ori Inbar, investor, founder, and chairman of Edete's board of directors. "California growers understand the economic value of good crops and are willing to invest in proven solutions."
This strategic focus stems from California's significant concentration of leading growers managing large and advanced plantations. Through its direct approach, Edete has created collaborations with key players in the global agricultural sector.
"Growers in California operate modern agricultural businesses, including some of the world's largest plantations, agricultural processing plants, and international packaging and marketing systems. Some are very large and advanced corporations that combine advanced agriculture with smart financial management," adds Inbar. "This market clearly faces pollination challenges, and the demand for quality solutions is very high. Pollination services in the western United States alone are valued at over a billion dollars annually, presenting enormous growth potential. Moreover, American agricultural companies have significant economic capacity and a deep understanding of the technological advantages that can improve yields."
This unique opportunity has allowed Edete to establish itself in a dynamic market ready to adopt innovative solutions with relative ease. "The ability to work with large and advanced farms allows us to demonstrate real success and build long-term trust," notes Inbar. "Our goal is to expand our activities and make a significant impact in additional global markets."
Business Model Edete's business model is based on an "end-to-end service" approach. Rather than having growers purchase equipment and bear maintenance costs, the company offers a service that encompasses all stages of pollination. From producing and preserving pollen for over a season to precisely pollinating orchards on a large agricultural scale, Edete provides a comprehensive solution.
This service model addresses the challenge of "market education" by offering growers an immediate economic advantage with minimal risk. Growers pay only for the services needed during specific seasons, avoiding long-term investment costs, training expenses, and ongoing maintenance. This model enables Edete to generate a continuous, stable source of income with high profitability while steadily expanding into additional markets.
Additionally, the model incorporates an intelligent management system based on accurate field data. Edete has developed a method using drone and satellite imagery, supported by AI technologies, to determine the optimal pollination time and manage large-scale logistics.
"Our service ensures smarter, more efficient agriculture," says Eylam. "Growers can focus on their business while we provide all the technological and botanical advantages, they need with minimal risk and investment."
Edete began providing commercial services in California in 2022, achieving nearly $1 million in 2024 sales from pollination services. The company aims to triple this figure in 2025. "We believe that performance-based services and precision pollination represent the future of advanced agriculture," notes Eylam. "Through our model, growers can expect higher yields and enjoy continuous improvements in performance and stable economic growth over time."
Raising Investments "So far, we have raised funds from private investors, kibbutzim, and moshavim, with additional support from the Israeli Innovation Authority," notes Eylam. "However, to expand our activities, we are now seeking additional investors."
In its early years, Edete focused on developing core technologies and bringing its first product to market. After achieving initial success, the company aims to reach a cash flow balance within two years, requiring a small capital injection to solidify its operations in California, expand existing activities, and enter new global markets.
"Our goal is to ensure long-term growth through strategic partnerships and attract investors who believe in our ability to drive global change in precision pollination. With a modest investment, we can realize the enormous potential of our technology in multiple global markets and deliver significant value to investors," Eylam says.
Outlook and Vision for the Future "Our goal is to become an international company providing advanced pollination services worldwide," concludes Eylam Ran. "We aim to expand operations to additional regions in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, while continuing to develop advanced and effective agricultural solutions."
As part of its strategic plan, Edete intends to expand its services to additional crops and invest in new technologies and smart agricultural resource management. The company also plans to strengthen its presence in key markets through collaborations with leading global companies.
"We are working on developing the next generation of pollination services and expanding the range of services to orchards worldwide," adds Eylam. "Our vision also includes partnerships with leading research institutions to develop innovative technologies for precision pollination."
