Green Coat-Algat is one of few, if any, companies anywhere that can offer a complete, under-one-roof solution for every coating requirement. From aluminum and iron to copper, plastic, gold, silver, tin, electroless nickel, zinc, anodizing, Alodine, adhesives and wet paint, company experts handle it to the highest standards. Serving every industry, they use industrial- and aerospace-grade paints crafted from premium, high-quality materials.

"What sets us apart is that we're a true one-stop shop for finishing," says company CEO Yuval Yariv. "We operate like dozens of factories rolled into one. A customer can bring in a product and have it coated, painted and printed — a complete solution handled by a single subcontractor instead of several."

How does this work?
This works because Green Coat-Algat performs dozens of different processes using a wide range of technologies. "From surface preparation through multiple and diverse coating processes, on to painting, printing, curing and assembly, every stage is handled in-house," explains Yariv. "We operate dedicated production lines staffed by specialized professional teams for each process, achieving consistently high-quality results at every step. In the coating domain alone, we run 15 different coating lines and painting operations, each capable of handling a broad range of parts and process requirements."

The company coats circuit boards and components for the electronics, automotive, aerospace and medical industries. Its engineering, technology and quality departments provide full support to the production lines. Its in-house inspection system includes analytical and process labs, as well as advanced inspection rooms. And its quality inspection team relies — as does the entire company —on sophisticated, state-of-the-art equipment.

Can you give examples?
"We use X-ray equipment to measure coating thickness with advanced precision," describes Yariv. "Our facilities include a salt spray chamber for corrosion-resistance testing, a spectrophotometer to verify chemical composition of solutions and an atomic absorption system to assess solution reliability. And that's only a partial list!"

Who are your main clients?
"We work with approximately 600 clients, each requiring dozens of different processes," responds Yariv. "Our ability to support all of them is what truly sets us apart — a level of complexity that few, if any others, can manage. Our client base spans both defense and civilian industries, from Rafael, Elbit and Israel Aerospace Industries to global leaders such as Boeing and HP Indigo. We support a wide range of production needs, including critical defense programs, infrastructure projects, printing technologies, electronics assembly and advanced medical systems."

Yariv believes that clients evaluate the company based on two primary criteria. The first is quality: they expect the highest standards, fully compliant with international and defense requirements, and Green Coat-Algat consistently delivers. The second is delivery time. As a subcontractor operating at the end of the production chain, the company must be creative, efficient and resilient to minimize delays. Products arrive for finishing before proceeding to final assembly and delivery, a process that demands complex logistics. To meet these challenges, the company continuously upgrades its information and digital systems and refines its production processes. It has recently begun implementing automation solutions to further enhance quality and shorten lead times. Business intelligence and artificial intelligence have been integrated into its information systems, enabling faster, more responsive service for clients.

Support for major defense projects
Green Coat-Algat was created through a merger of two long-established companies —Chromical, founded in 1967 in the Kiryat Ata industrial zone, and Algat, founded in 1976 in Kibbutz Alonim. They merged in 2019 to consolidate their production and commercial activities under a single brand. In 2024, the merged company was acquired by the investment firm Alma Yesodot in a move that has injected significant momentum and enabled major investments to support accelerated growth.

"The acquisition took place at a critical moment, during wartime," says Yariv. "It enabled us to support our defense clients when they needed us most. Alma Yesodot recognized the company's potential and has since driven its development and expansion."

Yariv was appointed CEO four years ago after holding senior positions in the plastics industry. Joining the company, he found a highly loyal workforce with deep experience and great potential. Under his leadership, a strong management team was built, combining long-serving managers with senior executives recruited from outside the company. The result is a robust, industry-focused, service-oriented leadership team that continuously pursues technological advancement.

Green Coat-Algat today operates from an 11,000-square meter facility at Kibbutz Alonim, and serves a wide range of industries with a focus on metal and plastic components. A second production site is located in the Kiryat Bialik industrial zone. The company employs some 200 people, about half of them women, including in management roles, as well as a dedicated group of workers with special needs.

"The merging of the two companies means that we field over a century of combined industry experience, along with extensive accumulated knowledge and technological expertise," notes Yariv. "Because we carry out chemical processes, we operate under stringent environmental regulations and maintain advanced wastewater treatment facilities. We hold all major quality certifications, including ISO standards and NADCAP accreditation for aerospace, and we also maintain thousands of client-specific certifications across defense and industrial sectors worldwide."

Do clients know what they need?
"Some clients know exactly what they need and provide detailed drawings specifying our scope of work," Yariv continues. "Others do not and, with them, our technology and engineering teams advise on the most suitable processes for their products, and ensure fast and efficient execution. We bring innovative technological solutions into production lines, enabling more advanced and efficient processes while reducing labor and manufacturing costs. In many instances, we offer clients solutions they didn't know were possible."

Beyond production, the company serves as an authority in its field and a leading source of industry knowledge. Process and quality engineers from both defense and civilian companies in Israel regularly attend its seminars, training programs and professional tours focused on coating and finishing technologies.

How did you operate during the war?
"As a company classified as essential, we were available round the clock to meet IDF and defense industries needs, recruiting extra staff and operating continuously," says Yariv. "It was an extremely challenging period, but we never stopped, regardless of the security situation. We supported all major projects and made a meaningful contribution to the defense effort, for which we've received certificates of appreciation from the Ministry of Defense. We understood the immense responsibility placed on us in extreme circumstances, especially the wars against Gaza war and Iran. We're deeply proud of what we accomplished and of the work we continue to do."

Goal: serving all industries in Israel
Another important aspect of Green Coat-Algat's contribution to the country is its commitment to community. During the recent war, the company provided scholarships to injured soldiers from the Emek Israel Regional Council, distributed holiday gifts to bereaved families, and donated to IDF units and memorial sites throughout the region.

Future plans
"With the support of our new owners, we're upgrading our production infrastructure and forging new business partnerships, with more are on the way," says Yariv. "Our goal is to expand the group so it can serve all industries in Israel, offer more complementary services, and further increase production capacity. Following substantial investments in infrastructure and systems over the past two years, we're experiencing significant growth. We've recruited additional managers and staff to strengthen our production, technology, information systems and quality functions. As CEO, I insist on rigorous self-evaluation and continuous improvement. Our employees understand that clients expect the highest quality, delivered as quickly as possible, and we're committed to meeting that expectation."
