ELECTRONICS 3.0: THE FAMILY-OWNED FACTORY DRIVING ISRAEL'S ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY
Evolving from a small company providing electronic engineering and development services to an advanced manufacturing facility supporting rapid development projects in both war and peace, Arotec shows that electronics can be done differently. It brings together a lean team, flexible vision, advanced technology, AS9100 certification and turnkey solutions to create cutting-edge Israeli electronics that serve both young entrepreneurs and major corporations

When Oded Arkin left Elta in the late 1980s after more than 20 years, Israel's SMT sector was still in its infancy. Inspired to make a difference, he created Arotec Ltd. with his wife Noa in 1988. Their vision was to bring advanced world-class technology to Israel and lead the development of its electronics industry.
The company they built now provides a broad range of services and solutions across communications, medical equipment, defense systems, agriculture and scientific research. It was among the first in Israel to operate SMT machines and supported the assembly and development needs of startups that later became giants —among them, Indigo (later the HP Indigo Division) and Dov Moran's M-Systems.
Arotec today ranks among Israel's elite electronics development and manufacturing companies, serving clients of every size from early-stage startups to international corporations. As a provider of turnkey solutions, the company delivers tailored support spanning procurement, development, engineering, design, assembly and manufacturing.
Development, Manufacturing and Operations in Peace and War
Oded Arkin, electrical and microelectronics engineer and on of Elta's microelectronics department founders, started with over 20 years of defense-sector experience and deep expertise in SMT and hybrid technologies. He currently serves as Arotec's CEO, driving forward its human-technology vision. Company co-founder Noa, who learned the field on the fly, is its COO.
Their daughter, Dganit Arkin-Ravoy, the second generation at Arotec, serves as VP of Business Development & Marketing. She started out as a teen, learning to solder and mastering production lines, and returned to the company in 2018 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master's in Information Systems, and having held senior positions in international companies. "I brought new energy and advanced work methods, which became part of our vision," she says. "We blend professional tradition
with flexible, modern development."
Arotec's third generation is already in line, learning to solder. "The pandemic integrated them into the team," smiles Arkin-Ravoy. "They came to understand that this isn't just a business, but a mission carried forward through generations."
The Advantage of a Boutique Family Company
"Our greatest advantage is our flexibility and personal touch in the communicaton with out customers," she continues. "We're a relatively small operation with three production lines and a compact team, working according to Lean Management principles. This enables us to respond quickly, fine-tune processes and tailor solutions to each client. Whether they need 10 units or 10,000, a single circuit or a complete product, partial procurement or full turnkey support, we handle it all. All assembly is performed in-house, from PCB assembly to the final product, with military-grade reliability."
Performing Under Pressure
"Performing under pressure is in Arotec's DNA," explains Oded. "We're an approved Israel Defense Ministry supplier, and during the war we supported urgent projects virtually overnight — assembling kits in the morning and deploying them to the field the following day. Even under missile attack and repeated alerts, our staff came to work, knowing that their efforts directly supported national security. Before that, during COVID-19, we operated emergency production lines for ventilators, producing thousands of units under strict social distancing restrictions. We delivered critical solutions when others couldn't."
Looking Ahead
"Our goal is to continue guiding clients from concept to finished product, providing solutions at every stage of development and manufacturing, in collaboration with our business partners," continues Oded. "Delivering a complete, flexible solution tailored to the client and the product is where our value truly shows. We're growing steadily, closely tracking technological developments across Israeli industry, and expanding without compromising the personal relationships and attentive service on which our clients rely."
