"I think that what characterizes customers in Israel today is a great deal of maturity when it comes to the cloud. They know how to assess which cloud is right for them, what services they need, which load will suit them, and which of the clouds is best suited to their needs. At the same time, they are also very demanding. We're talking about millennial managers. They're sophisticated and looking for professional, advanced, relevant, efficient, and smart service. This is exactly the service and value we provide," says Ron Sprinzak, CEO of Sela, a global cloud computing services company with branches in Israel, the US, and India.

According to Sprinzak, the business environments in which customers operate are characterized by intense competition, and there is a constant race to introduce innovation at an insane pace. "The introduction of innovative AI technologies and interfaces like Bard and ChatGPT increases competition even more. Every company wants to be at the technological edge, and the frequency of entry of new services and technological innovations is very high. This heightens our advantage for customers; we know the technologies and know how to make them accessible to customers."

- What are the other elements of this comparative advantage?
"We provide services for all three large clouds, which gives our customers a significant advantage, especially those working with more than one cloud. This allows them to maximize the various benefits of each cloud provider. We enjoy an extremely high professional standing and partnership status with the cloud providers, which translates into great value for customers. Whether they are looking to cut costs, optimize finances, or prevent edge cases through FinOps services, they can find the service or solution with us, including support, development, or consulting in various cloud areas, as well as assistance in architecture and implementation. Cloud activity is very dynamic; providers keep adding services, optimizing service, and streamlining. Our professionals are updated regularly and immediately, and can help customers implement these services and expand the services they themselves provide to their own clients."

- What are the characteristics of your customers?
"Ours are technology customers that run operations in the cloud and want to reach end customers or businesses that serve other businesses, B2B. Customers today need robust cloud services to back up their digital transformation journey. Our cloud infrastructures serve many projects and information systems. We stand behind the customers' digital systems and provide them with operations that take place on the cloud. We represent the organizations vis-à-vis the cloud providers."

Pay less and save more
Sela has over 30 years of industry experience. In 2021, it was acquired by Fortissimo Capital. The company employs about 300 people and is a business partner of the world's three largest cloud providers: Microsoft Azure, GCP, and AWS. The company is an MSP partner of Microsoft Azure and Msp Premier Partner of Google Cloud.GCP.

The company provides professional support at all stages of the transition to the cloud, from specification, planning, architecture, modernization, and other deployment steps to ongoing maintenance, including a 24/7 support center. According to Sprinzak, Sela covers 360° of services in the cloud, including cloud architecture, infrastructure management, ongoing monitoring of cloud activity, performance improvement, DevOps, and internal consulting and training for the employees of the organization. The company is also taking part in Project Nimbus, training civil servants in all matters related to the implementation of cloud services in government ministries."

You mentioned FinOps. What's special about it?
"This is a service that enables management and cost control of the resources invested by the organization in the cloud. The challenge of managing and auditing cloud spending has always existed but has been greatly heightened by the macroeconomic situation and the need for organizations to become more efficient. Bear in mind that cloud spending is considered the second largest expense after payroll. We make it possible to optimize the cloud economy, and put simply, pay less and save more. Today's managers are highly sensitive to financial expenses, and our ability to integrate various vendors and achieve efficiency meets a clear need of the organizations. Through our FinOps service, we help managers track, optimize, and manage their cloud costs across all platforms and at all points in time."

Last year was the year of artificial intelligence. What happened at Sela in this respect?
"Last year, we integrated expertise in GenAI and helped companies implement AI tools, including consulting and guidance. We built a process to help customers maximize revenue, streamline processes, develop enterprise chatbots, and more. We developed tools in several sectors: law (patent drafting), education (educational software for schools), fintech, clearance (searching for anomalies in pension funds), and customer software management (for example, predicting when a client will quit). We did all this alongside automation processes in the field of QA and more."

What is your vision?
"We aspire to continue to develop globally and provide diverse cloud services at the forefront of technology for various cloud platforms. This refers to both the services of the main cloud providers and those we develop ourselves, such as AI tools. After India and the US, our target is Europe. The world is just at the beginning of the journey to the cloud, as the numbers show, and there is still huge potential for sales and service. Our capabilities, knowledge, and experience, together with the fact that we are the only ones connected to the three largest cloud providers in the world, with a wide range of computing services, will enable us to support business growth."
