Few industrial plants in Israel have failed to cross paths with Technica J. Bokstein Ltd. This veteran family-owned company began modestly in 1925 as a supplier of bicycles and motorcycles. Over the next century, it grew into one of Israel's foremost providers of transmission parts, maintenance and automation solutions for a range of industries.

Through a rare combination of engineering expertise, personalized service and premium products, the company has consistently supported its clients across diverse sectors — from food and agriculture to transportation and aviation, defense to advanced hi-tech development.

From Bicycle Deliveries to National Industry Leadership
Shaping Technica J. Bokstein's success in recent decades is Yossi Ozer, its CEO and owner, who began working at the company in 1969 at age 19.

"After completing technical studies and before army service, I worked for the company as a delivery boy, riding a bicycle around Gush Dan," he recalls. "Even during my military service, I helped out during furloughs. After discharge, I joined its sales department."

Ozer's technical knowledge, professional integrity and strong customer trust earned him promotion to sales manager within six months. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he helped build a loyal client base by combining uncompromising product quality with top-tier technical support.By 2000, he had acquired a 10 percent stake in the company and became an active partner. In 2008, he purchased 100 percent ownership, making the company fully family-owned.

Expansion and Sister Companies
Two years after acquiring full ownership, Yossi established a sister company, Technica Bokstein Maintenance & Management Ltd., to provide comprehensive technical services to factories nationwide, including mobile teams to serve all sectors.

Next Generation Leadership
Yossi's son and daughter, Itzik Ozer and Osnat Danieli, later joined the company's management team, bringing fresh innovation and expansion. Representing the company's second generation, they blend family tradition with cutting-edge innovation.

Itzik, now VP and senior executive, applies his extensive hi-tech experience in advanced systems management, automation and smart technologies. "I've integrated tech-world tools into the company, leading strategic efforts in areas like 3D printing for industrial applications, advanced robotics and smart automation," he explains.

Osnat, responsible for group procurement, ensures reliable sourcing and strong relationships with international brands — a major competitive advantage amid global supply chain challenges.

Global Brand Partnerships
Technica J. Bokstein has secured exclusive Israeli representation for world-leading brands. It is sole Israeli representative for Renold (UK), which has over 120 years of expertise in chains and transmission parts, and for SKF, one of the world's largest bearing manufacturers. Among other brands which it represents are REGINA (conveyor chains), ČZ (transport chains), Ramsey (silent chains), TSCHAN (couplings) and ZMC (conveyor chains).

"These partnerships have upgraded our product line and established us as the go-to provider for factories seeking world-class quality backed by local support," says Yossi.

A Broad Industrial Product Line
The company's offerings have expanded well beyond chains and bearings to include conveyor systems and components; sprockets, couplings, motors and gearboxes; industrial plastics and machining; custom parts manufacturing on demand; and maintenance and installation services. This positions Technica J. Bokstein as a one-stop technical partner for Israeli industry.

The Power of People
Beyond technology and partnerships, the company's true strength lies in its human capital. "We're proud of our long-time employees, who've become part of our business family," says Itzik.

Ezra Alayo, head of sales, has been with the company over 30 years, exemplifying its core values of trust, professionalism and personal service. Nati Ben Nissan, import lead for nearly 20 years, ensures reliable supply chain operations, even during global disruptions. Together with a dedicated team of another 50 employees, they propel the company forward.

International Expansion and Subsidiaries
Technica J. Bokstein has grown internationally, as well. It has a strategic branch in China, staffed by company representatives who directly oversee sourcing and quality, ensuring that clients receive products meeting strict global standards.

Its other subsidiaries are Technica Bokstein Maintenance & Management Ltd. (since 2010), which offers full technical services — preventive maintenance, gear/machine repairs, spare parts manufacturing and 24/7 nationwide mobile service;Technolink Ltd. (acquired in 2012), which focuses on recycling, waste sorting and renewable energy; and B.N. Engineering & Technology Ltd., which has over 40 years' experience in hydraulics, and represents global brands like Haskel (high-pressure tech) and Moog Inc., complementing Technica's broad range from conveying solutions to advanced tech.

Strategic Industry Partner
"During our 100 years, we've become a strategic partner to Israel's diverse industries with solutions that have made us the technological backbone of the Israeli industry," says Yossi.

Examples include the food industry (conveyor systems for production, packaging and transport); defense (drive systems, control units and autonomous robotics); chemicals and energy (high-pressure and hydraulic solutions); logistics (conveyor networks and logistics center maintenance); agriculture (custom systems for agri-tech); and environmental tech (recycling, sorting and automation systems).

Looking Ahead
"We're expanding into advanced fields such as 3D printing for industrial production, smart manufacturing management systems, industrial automation and robotics —

including collaborative robots (cobots), logistics robotics — and applications in medicine, defense and agriculture," says Yossi. "Technica J. Bokstein aims to bridge Israeli industry with global technological innovation, while remaining true to its founding values of quality, service, trust, and innovation."
