Commtact: Partner in Israel's Defense Array For the "Iron Swords" War
Commtact's communication systems have been a significant factor in security events since the outbreak of the war, thanks to innovative technological developments designed to ensure maximum success in operational missions. Commtact's CEO Guy Ashel: "Our vision is that end-users will use our systems to produce the best operational solutions for both defense and offense

Writing this article was challenging. Many of my questions were met with "I'm truly sorry, but I am forbidden to answer that. "umerous details about Commtact's advanced technologies cannot be disclosed. Nevertheless the company's clients know that when they need military grade or lifesaving communication systems, Commtact is the contact.
"We've been developing communication systems from scratch for many years," says Commtact's CEO, Guy Ashel; "but what sets us apart is that we manufacture in-house. The company's developments and products in the field of wireless communications, provide a variety of security solutions, primarily for the world of aviation — for UAVs, RPVs, missile systems and more..."
Partners in Israel's Air Defense System
Against the backdrop of the Iranian attack dubbed the "Interception Night one of Commtact's significant sources of pride is its contribution to Israel's air defense system.. Commtact has been a partner in the air defense system for many years, and we are extremely proud of our ability to contribute to the security of Israeli citizens and the phenomenal success of this unique defense system developed for the State of Israel", says Eshel
"In addition to the Air Defense System, for several years now our communication solutions have been an integral part of several key IDF systems, used by the Air Force and the Ground Forces," Eshel refuses to elaborate further, and rightly so. The company's clients include the defense forces and major Israeli security companies such as Elbit, Rafael, Israel Aerospace Industries, Aeronautics and other UAV and drone companies. Information about their communications components must remain confidential.
Eshel emphasizes that Commtact's operational communication systems are built upon several fundamental principles. Foremost among them is the assurance of mission success. He underscores: "Our systems must function in critical operations, whether they entail security tasks or saving lives. Consequently, they are meticulously designed and constructed to operate flawlessly. They have exceptional resilience to disruptions to ensure mission completion at 100% efficiency."
Data protection is another fundamental principle. "We don't just ensure the smooth flow of information; we ensure its protection and encryption, which prevents disruption and interference. Eshel explains: "To achieve those aims, we invest extensive resources in the development of highly advanced encryption solutions."
The third principle is the prevention of communications disruption. In wireless communication systems, disruptions can arise from both rival and friendly systems. "Our systems can handle all types of disruptions and provide advanced topological solutions. The various communication systems work in concert, enabling comprehensive network control."
We have been at war for over half a year now. How has "Iron Swords" affected the company?
"These are very challenging times for Commtact. On the one hand, many of our employees were called up for reserve duty for months on end, which means a reduction in overall workforce. On the other hand, demand from the Ministry of Defense and other clients has increased significantly. Additionally, as is true for the entire country, some employees have faced personal challenges at home. Some live in conflict areas, while others have close family members participating in the fighting. We have made every effort to provide maximum support to all and participate in the civilian effort to support the communities in the conflict zones.
"We have made tremendous efforts in systems manufacturing and delivery to our clients to enhance overall combat support. Subsequently, we received new orders for delivery in a much shorter timeframe and managed to deliver them in record time. If that wasn't enough, we were also asked to develop new capabilities based on the lessons learned during the conflict, and to expedite those solutions, we worked closely with the Ministry of Defense."
When I ask for examples, Eshel smiles and politely asks me to move on to the next question.
How did you do it? You can't cut corners with this type of system.
"We ensured a highly intimate, intensive dialogue with our clients to understand their requirements thoroughly. We worked around the clock and that is not a cliché, to develop capabilities during combat. If you ask me about the company's human capital, that is precisely where it shines. Our people got to work; they have vast experience and many of them have military backgrounds, which greatly benefited us. Ultimately, translating the task into a rapid action plan was crucial, and we delivered on that."
Improvements providing operational advantages:
The human capital mentioned by Eshel comprises some 75 employees of which 30 are in the engineering department; about the same number are in operations and the rest are administrative personnel. "We have been in this field for 20 years now, but the company has retained its entrepreneurial, start-up character."
Eshel defines Commtact's services as "end-to-end," but they seem to encompass much more. The process begins with characterization of the needs, followed by development and efficacy testing, but it doesn't end with delivery. Eshel: "Post-assimilation support and service are as important to us as the sale itself and that's why our customers are highly satisfied."
"We have a keen focus on service, which allows us to generate a range of solutions. The integration of development and manufacturing enables us to produce solutions that embody technological superiority in a compact form.
"During the war, we developed new capabilities and enhanced existing ones. We're also entering the world of satellite communications because we understand its importance in modern warfare. We never stop improving the resilience of our systems for both local and international customers.
At the moment, we are in a state of constant emergency. Where are you headed?"
""Based on the insights gained during 'Operation Iron Swords,' we are developing capabilities that will be integrated into our systems to enhance their resilience, their flexibility, and how they can be used to provide our customers with operational advantages. Before the war began, we initiated a strategic process aimed at entry into the world of tactical, satellite communications for aircraft. The war reinforced that decision and increased our activities in the missile sector."
"Our vision is to provide end-users with the best operational solution because they are using our systems in both defense and offense. To achieve that, we provide reliable, resilient systems and capabilities with the advanced technology that can ensure successful mission completion. We understand that the world is constantly changing, and we must not only stay updated with the latest technologies; we must be a few steps ahead."
Eshel summarizes: "We take pride in having top class professionals at Commtact, who are justly proud of their contribution to national security as well as their professional and commercial efforts."
