“Today, it is common practice to only make a doctor’s appointment when there is cause to believe that something isn’t right. With just a few short minutes to spare, and based on the limited information at their disposal, the doctors must assess the patient’s health and provide quality care,” says Adam Amitai, co-founder and CEO of LAVAA. “We take a different approach, one that is parallel to the anti-virus approach used in the cyber world. Our engines search for diagnoses based on a person’s medical data, and they evaluate for each person his/her risk of getting sick. In the next stage, our platform suggests personalized treatment plans. This is a momentous change for the medical world.”

Early Detection & Prevention

LAVAA develops a system that integrates into daily medical operations. They do this by continuously analyzing patients’ medical data, which healthcare organizations/institutions already possess in real-time. The system enables the early detection and even prevention of chronic, oncological, and rare illnesses.

"Our platform prepares personalized health reports for each patient. Technology and healthcare protocols built by the best medical and research entities in the world are used to map and analyze the data,” Amitai says. “Our mission is to improve health and healthcare – today and in the long-term - while reducing unnecessary costs and hospitalizations. We seek to do this by providing access to the most advanced treatment as early as possible.”

Amitai, the company’s co-founder and CEO, is a serial entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience in the data science world. The company’s other co-founder and president of LAVAA is Izhak Lax. He brings over two decades of experience in the fields of healthcare and insurance. Lax served as the former Chairman of Ayalon Holdings, Maccabi Foundation and MaccabiDent, to name a few.

To date, LAVAA has raised $4 million, and has several pilots programs underway with companies in Israel and the United States. The company is also starting its penetration to the UK and EU markets. “Our goal is to help as many people as possible live longer and healthier lives, as well as to help medical teams provide optimal care. This applies also to insurance companies, so that they can reduce costs, as well as for pharmaceutical companies, so that they can enjoy significant improvements in their results, which is the natural result when the patients take the right medications. At the end of the day, our product enables a WIN-WIN for all parties involved.”

LAVAA’s LAB-X department initiates strategic collaborations with companies and universities in Israel and abroad to create innovation technological solutions based on LAVAA’s research. There are already numerous leading global pharmaceutical and technological companies among the company's partners.
