America just proved “no grandpa is too racist to become leader of the free world," said John Oliver opening the season finale of his HBO program 'Last Week Tonight.' Oliver went on to devote his entire show to examining the impending presidency of Donald J Trump. He even went so far as to offer those Americans and concerned citizens around the globe, a guide for what they can do to fight back in the coming years.
“We’re going to need to stay here and fight, and not just politically in four years when he’s up for reelection, but constantly, monitoring legislation as it moves through Congress, and fucking voting when your legislators come up for reelection in two years. But that is still below the barest minimum of what is going to be needed," insisted Oliver.
Oliver rejected the recent suggestions that Trump deserves “a chance,” declaring that, “Optimism is nice if you can swing it, but you’ve got to be careful, because it can feed into the normalization of Donald Trump, and he’s not normal."
