Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has co-opted Donald Trump's tweet from last weekend depicting Hilary Clinton against a background of dollar bills and with a Star of David reading "Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!"

"Absolutely true," declared Duke in his retweet of the original. He went on to declare Clinton's top donors "all Zio-Tribalists." He has pinned Trump's original tweet – before the Star of David was changed to a circle – to the top of his Twitter feed.

He also tweeted that he welcomed the exposure of "the hidden hand."

Trump's tweet aroused strong condemnation, with many people – including those identified with the right, though not with Trump – describing it as anti-Semitic.

Trump hastily replaced the Star of David, before claiming that the image was a "sheriff's star" and blaming the "dishonest media" for labeling it a Star of David.
