Asked on Monday what he thought of American Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, former Israeli President Shimon Peres reportedly replied: "I don't think there is much to think about him."

The comment came in response to a question by Forbes magazine editor Randall Lane at a conference that the magazine sponsored in Tel Aviv. Peres' comment prompted applause from the crowd, Forbes reported. The magazine website said most of those in attendance had been featured in the magazine's lists of leading talent under 30 years of age from around the world in various fields.

Peres completed his seven-year term as president of Israel in 2014. Late last month, Trump made a high-profile speech at the annual conference in Washington of AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby, at which he expressed his support for Israel.
