Following the recent revelation that U.S. President Barack Obama will get to catch an early screening of popular TV show Game of Thrones, he is now being asked to share the episodes he watches with the American public before the season premieres on April 24.

In an article on the Refinery 29 website, journalist Vanessa Golembewski shared that she filed a request under the Freedom of Information Act that Obama share the sixth season of the much-anticipated show with this fellow nationals.

Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss confirmed in an interview that Obama will receive an early copy of the season after he made a request to obtain it.

"He's the leader of the free world," Weiss said. Benioff added, "When the commander-in-chief says, 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?"

Golembewski wrote in response that " If the president – and by extension, our government – is in possession of a file, surely that file is subject to my request to see it as a U.S. citizen." The current status of the request is "submitted," and it has to go through "evaluation," "assignment" and "processing" to make it.
