U.S. President Donald Trump, while taking questions from reporters in the White House Rose Garden on Monday, insulted a female reporter – an exchange that was edited in the official transcript to change Trump's meaning.

After Trump called on Cecilia Vega of ABC News, he poked fun at her and claimed she was in a “state of shock” because he called on her.

“She’s shocked that I picked her, she’s like in a state of shock,” Trump said.

Vega quickly denied the claim, saying, “No, I’m not. Thank you, Mr. President.” And then things went off the rails as Trump continued to taunt her.

“That’s OK. I know you’re not thinking. You never do,” the president fired back.

According to the Daily Beast, the White House attempted to remedy the president’s blunder by changing a word in the official transcript, which reads, “I know you’re not thanking. You never do,” as opposed to, “I know you’re not thinking. You never do.”

Vega reacted to the event on Twitter writing, “A news conference means you get to ask whatever question you want to ask. #FirstAmendment.”
