Assange Warns More Leaks Coming, Compares Trump and Clinton to 'Cholera and Gonorrhea'

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange compares choosing between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to opting for "cholera or gonorrhea."

"Personally, I would prefer neither," Assange tells "Democracy Now," in an interview quoted by Politico. Also, on Tuesday, Assange warned CNN in an interview that more leaks are likely coming as 'a lot more material' is likely to be released before the election season is out.

Assange has previously acknowledged timing last week's release of hacked emails among Democratic National Committee staffers to harm Clinton ahead of the party's convention this week. Asked about claims that Russian intelligence had hacked the DNC to obtain the emails, Assange told NBC News' Richard Engel "there is no proof of that whatsoever" and said "this is a diversion" pushed by the Clinton campaign.

In a June 12 interview with Robert Peston of the ITV British television network Assange said he saw Clinton as a personal foe, alluding to longstanding tensions with the Obama adminisration over previous leaks of classified documents.

"Would you prefer Trump to be president?" Preston asked Assange, in a transcript carried by The New York Times.

Assange replied that while Trump was "completely unpredictable," Clinton was more problematic. He accused Clinton of seeking to indict him over Wikileaks release of diplomatic cables from her tenure as secretary of state.

“We do see her as a bit of a problem for freedom of the press more generally,” Assange said.

Assange has for some time been holed up in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London to avoid prosecution in Sweden on sexual assault charges.
