Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump touted the unparalleled loyalty of his supporters Saturday - supporters, he says, who wouldn't abandon him even if he started killing people in the street.

"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters, okay?" said Trump while mimicking the firing of a pistol with his hand. "It's, like, incredible," he added.
According to The Hill, Trump made the comment during a campaign even in Sioux Center, Iowa, where he is competing with other Republican front-runners, namely Ted Cruz, for votes in the fast-approaching Iowa Caucus.
Trump has been known throughout his campaign for stirring controversy with similar remarks, and his latest comes amid a raging debate in the U.S. regarding gun-control laws and lone-wolf terrorism.
On Friday, Trump landed in hot water for apparently retweeting a white supremacist.
Also during the speech Saturday, the controversial candidate vaguely threatened to open a lawsuit against Cruz, suggesting that his Canadian birthplace puts in question his eligibility to hold the position of president.
