U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted a defense his son, Donald Trump Jr., Wednesday morning against allegations of Russian collusion during the 2016 U.S. presidential election after details regarding a meeting between Trump Jr. and a Kremlin-linked lawyer became public. Emails relating to how the meeting was set up revealed Trump's eldest son welcomed Russian help against his father's rival in last year's presidential election
Trump's defense included retweeting Fox New's Jesse Watters who claimed Trump Jr. is "the victim here," Trump himself tweeting, "This is the greatest Witch hunt in political history. Sad!" and a final tweet in which Trump wrote, "Remember, when you hear the words sources"sources say" from the Fake Media, often times sources are made up and do not exist."
My son Donald did a good job last night. He was open, transparent and innocent. This is the greatest Witch Hunt in political history. Sad!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 12, 2017
"My son Donald did a good job last night," Trump also wrote on Twitter, referring to a television interview by his son late Tuesday on the issue.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergie Lavrov also responded to the scandal Wednesday morning says it's "Wild" that trump's son is being blamed for speaking with a Russian lawyer and that he knew nothing of the meeting.
