U.S. President Donald Trump received a smattering of boos as he arrived to watch an Ultimate Fighting Championship match in New York on Saturday, his first visit to the Big Apple after declaring his exodus from the city.
Outside the venue, dozens of anti-Trump demonstrators faced off with some supporters of the president.
Video showed people booing the president at the Madison Square Garden, days after he was booed at another World Series game in Washington, D.C.
This time, however, Trump was flanked by Republican lawmakers and his sons, Eric and Don Jr.
"I would say the general response was negative and boos, but there were certainly pro-Trump chants and USA chants and I could see a few MAGA hats scattered through the audience," Glenn Wayland, who filmed footage of Trump's entrance, told Reuters.
Trump's visit was his first to New York since announcing he was moving his permanent residence from Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.
