Ted Cruz, a devout Southern Baptist and the junior U.S. Senator from Texas landed in hot water after his official Twitter account made contact with a known pornographic Twitter account.
Liking a Twitter post does not share or retweet it, but Cruz's account activity became visible as the tweet was viewed on Cruz’s verified Twitter account profile, which led to Twitterati, journalists among them, to quickly highlight the account's activity.
Cruz connecting to pornography quickly generated headlines, given the senator's strict stance on moral issues and past legal actions.

Cruz's office argued, "There is no substantive due process right to stimulate one’s genitals for nonmedical purposes unrelated to procreation or outside of an interpersonal relationship."
The Twitter account "Sexaull Posts" replied to Cruz with the short and snappy message, "Thanks for watching ted!"
“The offensive tweet posted on @tedcruz account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter,” wrote Catherine Frazier, Cruz’s senior communications adviser on her own Twitter account. However, no explanation was given for the account's behavior.
