President Donald Trump's senior policy adviser Stephen Miller spoke to Fox New's Tucker Carlson shortly after Trump had fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates for refusing to follow orders on the president's immigration and refugee ban.
Miller slammed Yates in defense of his boss, saying, "It was a betrayal of her office and [Sally Yates] is being replaced with somebody who will enforce the laws of the U.S." Yates, an Obama appointee, had been held over to run the Justice Department until Trump's pick for Attorney General Senator Jeff Sessions is confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
Carlson went on to ask Miller about his role in drafting Trump's executive order temporarily banning refugees and travel from certain Muslim countries. "The immigration orders were drafted by a team of some of the most qualified, talented lawyers in the USA. I am proud to have the opportunity tonight to stand up for President Trump's order and to defend the action as lawful, necessary and important."
