U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted Tuesday an attack on former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman, calling her a "dog." MSNBC's Joe Scarborough ripped into the president's remarks, comparing Trump's behavior to how the Nazi's referred to "Jews as rats."

“During the Holocaust, Nazis referred to Jews as rats. In Rwanda genocide was often justified, calling them cockroaches, slave owners considered slaves subhuman animals.”

Trump's tweet was in response to Omarosa on Monday releasing another audio tape, purportedly featuring a phone conversion between her and the President after it was announced she was being fired from the White House in 2017.

Joe Scarborough, the former Republican congressman and host of the TV show "Morning Joe," dedicated much of the show to discussing the autocratic tendencies of President Trump.

“We’ve heard it said before and we’ve heard it discussed before about how tyrants and autocrats and, yes, fascists, communists, others used the language of dehumanization to justify, well, a movement away from democracy and a movement away from decent standards,” Scarborough said on "Morning Joe.

Apart from calling Omarosa a "dog," Trump delivered a salvo of insults directed at the former White House aide, also calling her a "crazed, crying lowlife".

Scarborough several times likened president Trump's "dehumanizing" rhetoric to that of fascists and communists.

“It opens the door for cruelty and genocide,” Scarborough added. “Nobody is saying that Donald Trump is a Nazi, nobody is saying that he’s Adolf Hitler in 1938, 1939, 1940, but you can see time and time again this is how dictators and tyrants open the door, and they do it by dehumanizing their political opponents.”
