New 'Homeland' Season Sends CIA Agent After a Tyrannical President
Riffing on President Trump and the current climate in the Washington, the fictional president incredulously asks Berenson 'How is that they tried to assassinate me and I’m the one under investigation?'

The upcoming season of Showtine's espionage thriller "Homeland," adopted from an Israeli TV show, stars an off-the-reservation CIA agent Carrie Mathison played by Claire Danes trying to take down a tyrannical U.S. president.
Mathison is investigating the administration of President Keene, played by Elizabeth Marvel, who arrested over 200 members of the intelligence community after barely surviving an assassination attempt at the end of season 6.
“The country is in freefall, tearing itself apart!” warns Carrie Mathison.

The show also stars an Alex Jones-inspired conspiracy theorist who is personally trying to stop the president. “The founding fathers foresaw the dark day when we would face a president like her," the character warns.
Carrie's former mentor Saul Berenson, played by Mandy Patinkin, is also on the hunt to bring down the president but from inside the administration. Riffing on President Trump and the current climate in the Washington, D.C., the fictional president asks incredulously asks Berenson, “How is that they tried to assassinate me and I’m the one under investigation?”
