CNN's Jake Tapper threw some shade at the competition on the last episode of his show, "The Lead with Jake Tapper" Monday. While CNN foreign correspondent Clarissa Ward observed that Russian state media, Russia Today, did not cover Congressional hearings into Donald Trump's wiretapping claim and ties to Russia, Tapper remark that when "he looked up, neither was Fox News."
"What was noticeable today, while every single news channel pretty much in the world and I’m talking globally: Sky News. BBC, Al Jazeera. One news channel that very noticeably did not take today's hearing was Russia Today," said Ward. Ward was arguing that the Kremlin now understands Russia is becoming unpopular in the United States and as a result are beginning to adjust their media coverage.
"You know another thing that didn't get much coverage? Michael Flynn's resignation. So clearly the Russians can see what this portends in the long run and they are trying to prepare for it accordingly," concluded Ward.
