Fox News host Tucker Carlson ripped into the left-leaning non-profit media watchdog Media Matters on Tuesday, responding to the group which has been releasing past tapes of Carlson making racist and misogynistic comments.
“Media Matters is a George Soros-funded lobbying organization, whose sole mission is to punish critics of the Democratic Party,” Carlson claimed.
“Tucker Carlson red face ranting about Media Matters,” the group’s president, Angelo Carusone, responded on Twitter. “He calls for us to be shut down. Not sure how that changes that he said that stuff in the past or changes that Fox News is toxic to advertisers.”
Carusone continued, “Oh, he also lied. Carlson claimed George Soros funds us. That is actually not true. Just typical Soros conspiracy talk from Fox. We are a modest nonprofit and rely on donations from many many people.”
Carlson went on to attack CNN and anchor Brian Stelter, who he called “the house eunuch at CNN.” Carlson called also called Stelter “The Zucker Puppet,” with an illustration of CNN chief Jeff Zucker, who is Jewish, portrayed as a puppet master.
“‘It’s about decency!’ cries the eunuch!” Carlson mockingly said. “‘We must have decency!’ By which the eunuch means, ‘Less disobeying, more obedience.'”
“This is the face of state media,” he continued. “‘Why does Fox even exist?’ they wonder. ‘We’ve got 11 other perfectly good cable channels, all of them approved by management and obedient to the people in charge. How could anybody watch something different? Fox can’t be legitimate! They must be lying! Their viewers must be stupid!'”
