Late-night host Stephen Colbert laid into U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday for allegedly giving Russian officials top secret information provided by Israeli intelligence.
- Trump’s leak of Israeli secrets threatens an intimate intelligence relationship
- CNN did not report information Trump leaked to the Russians for fear of losing lives
- Israel gets a bitter taste of Trump’s mayhem and meshugas
"It's not just who Trump leaked the information to," Colbert quipped. "It's where we got it from. Israel was the source of the intelligence Trump gave the Russians.
"And oops-a-shalom! Trump is scheduled to visit Israel next week," Colbert said showing a screenshot of a Haaretz article. "That is really gonna be one awkward state dinner. Uh, Mr. president, will you please pass the hummus? Or would you prefer to pass it directly to Russia?"
Colbert's monologue continued with a joke that Trump may have alternative motives during his trip to Israel.
"Just to be safe: While he's there, don't let him see any of those notes tucked into the Western Wall," said Colbert and carried on in a voice mimicking Trump. "Ooo, Sara's asking God for strength through her divorce. Vlad's gonna love that one."
