On the most recent episonde of his HBO political satire program "Real Time," host Bill Maher made an explicit, incest laden joke about Ivanka Trump's relationship with her father.
Maher made the joke while attempting to make sense of Ivanka Trump's role in the White House and whether or not she is worthy of being the "liberal's hope" for the Trump administration. In the short exchange with New York magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman.
“A lot of us thought: Ivanka is gonna be our saving grace," said Maher. "When he’s about to nuke Finland or something, she’s gonna walk into the bedroom and say, ‘Daddy, Daddy’” joked Maher while making a lewd hand gesture. “‘Don’t do it, Daddy.’”

Maher then turned to New York magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman and asked, “Is that how you see Ivanka?” “NO,” Sherman quickly replied. “I think, again, she’s on the margins trying to save us—to the degree that she can—but Donald Trump doesn’t listen to anybody, including his own family.”
Maher's comments immediately spawned a barrage of angry tweets denouncing the comedian and columns in publications like the Daily Beast insisting that, "Maher crossed the line." Maher's remarks come on the heels of "Late Night" host Stephen Colbert making a sex joke about Trump and Putin, for which the FCC is now investigating whether or not to fine the host, while critics are calling for CBS to fire him.
