Steve Bannon didn't mince words against leadership of the Catholic Church in support of the Obama-era program DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in an interview with 60 Minutes' Charlie Rose, clips of which were aired on CBS This Morning Thursday.
After Bannon expressed the discontent of "guys on the far right" following Trump's decision to leave the future of DACA in the hands of congress, Rose confronted Bannon with his own Catholic faith.
Catholic leaders like Cardinal Timothy Dolan have come out in support of the program, calling DREAMers "our people" and insisting that demonizing them contradicts "the Bible, America, New York, and human decency."
Bannon responded with venom. "The bishops have been terrible about this," he said. "You know why...they need illegal aliens to fill the churches. They have an economic interest in unlimited immigration."
