Trump Jr. Mocked for Sharing Global 'Electoral Map' From Alt-right Meme Account

Donald Trump Jr, the eldest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, tweeted on Tuesday a mock electoral map showing Trump painting the globe red in victory.

The map was originally posted on an alt-right meme account, which later celebrated Trump Jr. sharing it. Trump tweeted a map with the line, “Okay, finally got around to making my electoral map prediction,” that showed Trump winning every country except Mexico, Cuba, China, India and Liberia. Trump also lost California and New York - while winning Israel and the Palestinian territories.

Notably Russia, North Korea and Iran were all won by Trump, as were the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and Antarctica.

Mockery responding to Trump Jr.’s map was immediate. Vice’s Mathew Campion wrote, “so if I understand this map correctly, and that's a big if, California, Mexico, New York, Cuba, Liberia, India (minus Kashmir), India, Sri Lanka, and China... are Democrat now?”

Democratic Congressional candidate Jamaal Bowman responded, “Fully fund Social Studies. This is a mess.” Right-wing commentator Jack Posobiec took issue with the map showing Trump losing India, whose leader is a close Trump ally.

Twitter Inc and Facebook Inc on Tuesday suspended several recently created right-leaning news accounts posting information about voting in the hotly contested U.S. election for violating their policies.

Twitter said the accounts had been suspended for violating its policy against "coordination," posting identical content while appearing independent or engaging in other covertly automated behavior. Facebook suspended them for inauthentic behavior.

One of those suspended, SVNewsAlerts, had more 78,000 Twitter followers, after adding more than 10,000 in the past week.

The account frequently warned of election-related unrest and highlighted issues with voting safety and reliability.
