This Fourth of July, Israelis Also Have a Reason to Celebrate

For many years, until COVID-19 changed everything, the U.S. embassy in Israel hosted an annual Fourth of July celebration at what used to be the ambassador’s residence in Herzliya, overlooking the Mediterranean from the top of a cliff. Israeli politicians, business leaders, security officials and journalists mixed with hundreds of other guests, eating hamburgers while waiting to hear speeches from the American ambassador and Israel’s prime minister.
