Legend tells that on a bright Shabbat morning in Del Boca Vista, Florida, Marvin Cohen walked into the office of his congregation’s rabbi following services.
“Rabbi,” he said quietly, “I need a favor from you.”
“Anything for you Mr. Cohen,” said the rabbi.
“Well, rabbi, as you recall, my beloved wife Barbara passed last year,” he said in a trembling voice. “The kids are far, my sister is in Chicago, and I got very lonely. So I got a goldfish,” he continued.
