Two shocking developments occurred in the relationship between Israel and the United Arab Emirates on Monday.
One of them took place in Abu Dhabi, where it was announced that an Emirati billionaire was buying half of the Israeli soccer club Beitar Jerusalem. The other happened in Washington, where Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, openly expressed Israeli support for the UAE’s arms deal with the Trump administration – including the purchase of F-35 fighter jets.
