Sarah Silverman spoke for many progressive Jews in an emotional podcast confessional last week in which she expressed distress that the “cool and kickass” members of “the Squad” were so adamant and proactive in fighting against funding Israel’s Iron Dome defensive weapons system.

It shouldn’t have come as news to the U.S. comedian that Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Cori Bush – the five left-wing lawmakers known as “The Squad” – are among the most outspoken and harshest critics of Israel in Congress, and among the strongest advocates on putting conditions on military aid to the Jewish state.
