Compared to the person who heads the Muqata in Ramallah, the two candidates for the U.S. presidency are frisky youngsters. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will turn 85 on November 15. Considering his age, he looks quite healthy. The predictions, already heard two and three years ago, that Abbas would retire because of his advanced age have been proven wrong. He underwent a shock recently, though, when his confidant, Saeb Erekat, fell ill with COVID-19. Erekat, 65, who underwent a lung transplant a few years ago, remains in critical condition in Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Karem.
