Israelis take swim medals in Europe

Guy Barnea and Gal Nevo each won medals for Israel over the weekend at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in France. On Friday Barnea improved the Israeli record for the men's 50-meter backstroke, his best being 23.46 seconds in the final - good enough for silver. Yesterday, Barnea qualified for today's 100-meter backstroke final with a new Israeli mark of 51.66 seconds in his semifinal heat. After winning a bronze medal in the men's 200-meter individual medley on Thursday, Nevo did it again in the 400-meter IM. (Rami Hipsh )
