Gadi Eidelheit, an amateur Israeli astronomer and photographer, captured and posted this great video of the International Space Station passing by the moon over Israel Sunday night.
Though the space station seemed to pass right by the moon it is in fact far closer, orbiting the Earth between 410 to 420 Km away from the surface, while the moon is between 362,200 to 405,400 Km away.
The ISS first entered orbit in 1998. It is currently the largest artificial satellite orbiting Earth. It travels at 7.66 kilometers per second, which means it circles the planet every 92 minutes.
