A private jet burst into flames during an attempted takeoff at Ben Gurion International Airport on Wednesday.
A State of Emergency Level 3, the highest level of danger, was declared during the incident .The six passengers were rescued without harm.

It is not clear why the fire erupted on the wheels of the plane as the pilot was preparing for takeoff on Runway 26. The fire broke out in the right-side landing gear of the plane. The pilot braked immediately and some of the passengers were able to extricate themselves, while others were evacuated by the airport's Fire and Rescue Services.
The flight was an ambulance flight en route to Russia, from where it was tasked with bringing back a patient.
"The Fire and Rescue Services acted immediately to extinguish the fire that broke out in the plane during takeoff," the Airport Authority said. "The fire was extinguished. The work was carried out quickly and professionally."
