'Survivor' Spent Over $1m on Advertising

...And got most negative mentions in press.

Ratings rivalry amoung TV channels in recent months has inspired the spending of enormous sums on public relations for their flagship programs. Not content with promos, the channels are branching into billboards, newspapers, the Internet and even the radio. According to Yifat Media Research, Channel 10's "Survivor" is the most advertised program, appearing in all media (including 116 times in leading newspapers) between November 2007 and January 2008, at the cost of an estimated $1 million. But spending loads of money on ads and p.r. doesn't mean all the mentions were positive. The program also earned the greatest number of negative comments in the press.
