The Environmental Protection Ministry is planning to offer consulting and financing for small and medium-sized companies and factories that take the initiative to become more environmentally friendly.
The plan will receive NIS 500,000 in financing from the state budget.
The financing for companies would come in the form of loans from the small business fund.
Over the weekend, Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan asked Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Benjamin Ben Eliezer to consider offer participating companies more financial support from the fund.
Two weeks ago Erdan met with OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, and the two agreed that this coming September, a group of OECD experts will come here to review the country's environmental progress.
