Senior Israel Corporation officials are furious with attorney Ram Caspi, who represented the company in negotiations with the Government Companies Authority over the purchase of the Zim shipping company. The officials demanded ending all business with the lawyer, since "Caspi revealed details about the negotiations with the government in violation of the code of professional ethics between attorneys and their clients."
The officials added: "He hurt the Israel Corp. employees and the civil servants who handled the negotiations, and reduced the contributions of others only for his own glory and to win a larger fee."
Caspi said he is unaware of the officials' view. "I have not heard any complaints. Throughout the burden of the negotiations, [Israel Corp. CEO] Yossi Rosen had the major role, and I only assisted him, and that is the way it should be."
