Israel May Fall and Rise Again

Those who talk about Israel's demise can be divided into two groups: Those who hope it will happen, and those who are afraid of it. Israelis may lose their sovereignty in the future - but it might not be the nightmare we envision

In our world, there are many millions of people who were born in states that no longer exist. Some of these states were dismantled when the Communist Bloc crumbled, like Yugoslavia, East Germany, South Yemen and, of course, the Soviet Union. You can't find these countries on a world map anymore. They either broke up into several new states or merged with existing ones, in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet regime under whose framework they had existed.
