In Radically Regressive Israel, Sometimes Women Are the Worst

Israel’s far-right coalition has fewer women than previous governments, yet the women on board seem to be doing everything they can to take away rights that were earned over decades

A few months ago, Limor Son Har-Melech filed an official complaint alleging she was sexually harassed by a group of Israeli Border Police officers. Son Har-Melech, a lawmaker representing the Kahanist, far-right Otzma Yehudit party, was taking advantage of her parliamentary immunity to try to from uprooting trees illegally planted by settlers on private Palestinian land in the West Bank when the incident occurred.
