Your Jewish terrorists come first. Their homes will not be demolished, their families will not bear the blame, because your God visits the sins of the fathers on the sons and on the third and fourth generation only if they hate him; whereas your God has mercy (from ancient texts and “Torat Hamelech”) on those thousands who love him and keep his commandments. But I want you to know that this is not my God.
Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg follows in the footsteps of his God: “Among the Jewish population, there is no need for deterrence. … The Jewish public, as a rule, is deterred and remains unincited.” Who are those evil people who have slandered the justices of Jerusalem, as if they secluded themselves in an ivory tower rather than dwelt among their people? You see, even justices share our positive view of ourselves as a people immune to incitement. It is only we, among all of the peoples of the world, who will not become a lynch mob because we are the Chosen People.
Jewish terrorists and price-tag revenge seekers are provided special arrangements just in case. The authorities assign them sensitive intelligence sources who cannot be disclosed to the public and in the process the terrorists are ensured immunity for themselves. The prime minister may have pounded on the table and issued orders, as is his wont, but heaven forbid, he didn’t mean to harm state security. Perhaps only now, after four months and on fourth thought, we will finally be permitted to know who carried out the firebombing of the home of the Dawabsheh family. But the road is still long, as is the investigation.
Your people Israel need no deterrence, because Yigal Amir has not yet been found to have followers. Just this week a writer acquaintance told me about an experience that she recently had at a state religious school in a West Bank settlement, when she sought expressions of revulsion from the students and instead found identification.
And truth be told, why even try to deter from the outset if after the fact lenient sentences and even clemency are handed down? Because we are one big familia. It’s one continuous line from the 1956 massacre at Kafr Qasem to the killing of a captured terrorist hijacker on the No. 300 bus to the Jewish Underground and now to the Jewish supremacists of Lehava. All are Prisoners of Zion and beneficiaries of a revolving-door policy and of judges who keep it well oiled. And the deeds of the fathers are a guidepost to the grandchildren.
And Baruch Goldstein, may his death by avenged, is buried in a grand setting, built to perpetuate the memory of that atrocity, in the settlement of Kiryat Arba. And the multitudes who make the yearly pilgrimage there lift a leg on his grave and urinate on it to water the plants there in honor of Baruch the He-Man.
That’s how our terrorists are, as are the spies among us. The American version of Der Sturmer this week published an editorial saluting the position taken by that hated President Obama. In the view of his supporters, the editorial said, Jonathan Pollard is considered a hero, but he committed serious violations of the law, betraying the trust of his country. He is not entitled to special consideration.
And the New York Times adds: “In the charges against him, Mr. Pollard was portrayed as a flaky operator who tried to peddle secrets to Israel but also to Pakistan, South Africa and other countries for the money, of which Israel paid him a lot. Many facts remain unknown because Mr. Pollard pleaded guilty, and his case did not come to trial.”
And now he has been sentenced to another five years’ parole in the gulag of Manhattan. Another “tortured saint” was handed permanent parole conditions that were no less vindictive, and the Israeli court gave them its support.
That’s how it is in the world. Every country helps out its own spies and murderers who have acted on behalf of the country. And the Jewish tribe does better at it than any other of them. Even though they have sinned, the Jews remain the Jews. Blood brothers are our glorious heroes.
It is only Palestinians influenced by incitement who glorify martyrs. They are different from us. They need to prove their holiness through their deaths, on an individual basis and subject to the terms of the promotional offer. But our collective sanctity is axiomatic, because it is us whom God has sanctified and no proof through death is necessary.
