The fire didn’t start because of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, the cancelation of the Palestinian Authority elections or Israel’s existence. These are all merely pretexts.

The war broke out because the Iranians wanted to test U.S. President Joe Biden’s support for Israel as part of their preparations for negotiating a return to the nuclear deal. They kept their strong card, Hezbollah, while pushing their weak cards – Hamas and Islamic Jihad – to open fire.
