Police on Tuesday arrested a Ramat Gan man, 22, suspected of physically and sexually abusing an underage girl from the ultra-Orthodox sector.
In her complaint to police, the alleged victim said that after she met the suspect on the Internet, he coerced her into having sexual relations with a number of men in exchange for payment. She alleged that he also extorted money from her, raped and beat her.
The alleged victim said that the suspect had begun to abuse her not long after she informed him of her intention to separate. At one point, she said, the suspect left her alone at the old central bus station in Tel Aviv with no way of getting home on her own.
He reacted by behaving violently toward her, she said, and threatened to tell her religious community about her sexual activities.
The suspect has no criminal record. He will appear before a Petah Tikva court late Tuesday for an extension of his remand.
