Turkey Slams Trump's 'One-sided' Statement on Armenian Genocide
Turkey isn't pleased even though Trump didn't say the word 'genocide'
The Turkish government harshly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's comments on the 102nd anniversary of the massacre of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

Trump's comments contained "misinformation and false definitions ... derived from the information pollution created over the years by some Armenian circles in the U.S. by means of propaganda methods," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said late Monday.
Trump spoke of "one of the worst mass atrocities of the 20th century" in remembrance of the victims of what many Western powers, including Germany, have recognized as a genocide.
Trump's statement notably did not include the word genocide, which Turkey, the successor state to the Ottoman Empire, vehemently rejects.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry demanded the U.S. administration refrain from accrediting a "one-sided historical narrative" and "adopt an approach which will take into consideration the sufferings of all sides."
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday paid his respects to the "Ottoman Armenians who lost their lives under the harsh conditions of the First World War."
Erdogan plans to meet Trump next month in the U.S.
