An explosion was heard in the Syrian capital Damascus, Syrian state TV said on Saturday.

According to State TV, the blast occured in an undisclosed military area in Dummar, west of the capital.

Other reports quote a military source, who said the explosion, which took place in an army weapons warehouse, was caused by a spreading wildfire rather than a deliberate attack.
