Syrian Air Defenses Thwart 'Hostile' Attack on Targets in Latakia, State TV Reports
Last week saw monitor say suspected Israeli missiles targeted Iranian-backed militias in Syria

Syrian air defenses thwarted hostile targets in the town of Jableh in Latakia, Syrian state television reported on Wednesday evening.
Last week, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors Syria's war, said suspected Israeli missiles targeted posts for Iranian-backed militias in the area between the Damascus International Airport and the Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood, south of the capital.
Earlier this month, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that a passenger jetliner in Syria was endangered by Israeli fighter jets that used it as shield while striking the suburbs of Damascus. Syrian state media reported that eight soldiers were wounded, while an opposition war monitoring group said that 23 people died in the strikes, which targeted army positions and Iran-backed fighters.
