A 17-year-old Palestinian died on Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, a day after he was shot by Israeli forces during clashes in the Nablus area.

Kamel Abdullah Alawneh was brought to the hospital on Saturday after being shot in the stomach and arm during clashes with Israeli forces in the village of Jaba, near Jenin, the director of Ibn Sina Medical Center in Jenin said. They operated on him, and declared him dead on Sunday afternoon.

An Israeli army spokesperson accused Alawneh of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the soldiers, who fired at him. No Israelis were wounded.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian man was killed by Israeli fire in Jenin, the latest fatality in the West Bank city that has seen an uptick in military raids over the past few months following a wave of attacks against Israelis perpetrated by residents of the area.

Mohammed Maher Mar'i, a 23-year-old resident of the Jenin refugee camp, was seriously wounded by Israeli gunfire in the city's east, according to Palestinian reports, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Jenin locals say Mar'i was not a member of an active militant group or wanted for questioning by the Israeli army. However, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's military wing claimed he was one of its fighters.

The Israeli military has conducted near-nightly West Bank operations since a fresh wave of terror attacks, which have left 19 dead, began hitting Israel earlier this year. The Palestinian Health Ministry says over 30 Palestinians have been killed in the operations, which have focused largely on Jenin and nearby villages.
